Do not do business with Half.com. I filed a complaint with BBB and even they could not get a response from Half. This is my experience with them:
I tried to sell two used textbooks on www.Half.ebay.com (a division of ebay). They require a credit card to register, and for some unknown reason Half did not accept my valid credit card. I communicated with five different people through “live chat”, over a period of two days, and no one could correct this problem. I called my credit card company, and they told me the problem was with Half. The second day I tried another credit card (as I had before). This time it worked.
I was finally able to list my two textbooks, but I immediately received a notice that my listings were blocked. Half stated that they wanted further verification (drivers license and utility bill), which I sent, and that I would be notified within three business days. 6 weeks later, after repeated calls to ebay (Half is unlisted) and emails, they did not respond. (They did send a useless automated response.) I still don't know why my listings have been blocked.
I never bought or sold anything on ebay before, and my credit and records are unblemished. Half.com treats me like I'm a criminal and ignores my requests and complaints. Furthermore, I am not able to login.
I am very surprised at how poorly they run their business. The people in their "live chat" try hard but are clueless about solving basic problems, and it is impossible to call Half.com on the phone. Perhaps worst of all, Half.com gave my name and address to other companies; I immediately started to get all kinds of unwanted nuisance phone calls from telemarketers.
