I took my sister's Honda accord in because the driver door would not open. I was charged $94.00 diagnostics fee to check the car to see what the problem was. An hour later they quoted me about $500 because a new door latch was needed and the work required "some drilling," and removal of the driver seat which is automatic. I took the car across the street to Lima Linda Auto Body & Paint. They checked the car and said that a door latch was not needed and that the seat didn't need to be removed either way. They replaced a cable inside the door that cost $5 and did all the work for less than $70. I called Honda and asked why they got the diagnostics so wrong, and the Mgr, Mr. Martinez, who said he was a former Technician, couldn't tell me what the procedure was in performing the diagnostics on the car. Mr. Martinez didn't know why Screen Honda didn't know that the driver seat didn't need to be removed. I don't even know if they checked the car at all of if they just made something up when they told me the door latch need to be replaced. They refused to refund the $94 until I complained to the BBB and even then it took about 6 months for them to send me a check. They only sent it after I threatened them with a small claims lawsuit.
