I bought a loose diamond from Stein Diamonds over the internet and felt cheated. In their loose diamond selection they show very attractive prices and in my case shipped a diamond that was different and less valuable than the diamond I thought I bought. The diamond they sold was color E, clarity VVS1 and 1.0 carets. The diamond I received was color H, clarity VS1 and 1.09 carets. The paperwork provided by Stein confirmed the color, clarity and size. My local jeweler, Rose Jewelers in La Crosse, WI ( 136 years in business) regraded the diamond when I had it set into a ring. When I asked about the grading difference in color it was explained by Stein as different labs have different standards. BS - maybe E-F but not E to H.
This is classic bait and switch.
